2012 - 2026
The visits of the National Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team left an impact in their wake. More then games, visits and interaction made it all possible. And during that time the people of long island left a lasting impression on these veterans and their message of no limits, no quit

From the first visit in 2012. We were supported by James Gandolfini and Joe Walsh. Our guest of honor was the National 9/11 flag. Players and fans put stiches in.
So many things and people. HBO, Sesame Street honoring them and Josh riding on their NYC veterans day float. Greg getting a Guinness World Record. Nick giving film a go. Matias becoming the first bilateral amputee police officer in the country. Our great friend Steve culling through over the 10,000 pics he had taken over the years, to put a 100 favs in a show at an art gallery
Every member of that team, that put on that uniform was and is great.
A whole new vibe entered as our friends and patriots started a new tradition by escorting the team bus from the hotel, and right up the field. Who else do you know, who they closed the Long Island Expressway for ?
the last couple of visits we attended schools on flag day. Then conducted youth clinics in the afternoon. So great to watch all the smiles. And the BBQ's from the Suffolk Police Veterans Association. Not burgers and dogs.
We supported the blue and first responders, they supported us right back.
It has all been wonderful. We all met and mingled with people we never knew, yet were so like minded. A true community. All brought together by these wonderful awe inspiring veterans. Whose smiles are like bright beacons of light, respect and hope.
We all have our favorite story. That is what is so powerful. The collective of these events are so much stronger then the sum of the parts.
We managed to do this over 14 years for free for this great community. Take a moment to check out the sponsors that made that happen. We support them and hope you will too.
Pictures do tell stories. There are some here. scroll through the posts or even just the photos on the facebook account. It is all there.
Below are two videos. The first from the very first visit in 2012. We loved it then. We love it now. The other from the last visit in 2026. Came along way thanks to a great community.
PS - still follow the FB as we might have something great to share
